Jean's Desk
State Director, Jean Gardner
and her husband Bob

As Missouri's State Director, I thank you for visiting
our Missouri Good Sam RV Club Website. As I begin my second
year as State Director, I must say, we had a very interesting
year and a very successful Samboree 2009. We just hope that
all those who attended our Samboree had as much fun as we did.
Missouri presently has 35 chapters with nearly 600 RV's making
up those chapters. Chapter members enjoy numerous activities
whenever they gather at their chosen campgrounds. Normally they
meet once a month. Not only do the chapter members become "like
family" and enjoy fellowship, potlucks, games and do many other
things together. Many also do charity projects, of their choosing
each year. Some of the projects might be Dogs for the Deaf,
Special Olympics and Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps,
as well as many local needy organizations.
We invite you to contact one or more of our Assistant State
Directors on our website so you might
visit a chapter campout. This way you can become acquainted with
their members. And you can best decide whether or not you would like
to be a chapter member too.
If you are not sure who to contact, just contact me at anytime, and
I can help you find a group in your area.
The Missouri Good Sam Club also has a "Samboree" each
September on Columbia, MO. at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
This year's theme will be, "Beverly Hillbillies, Missouri Style". A
Samboree is a gathering of RV people, usually between 300
and 500 rigs, coming together to enjoy many different activites.
We participate in competitive games, attend interesting seminars,
enjoy Free ice cream, learn line dancing, as well as a free pancake and
sausage breakfast and enjoy our entertainment Wednesday through
Saturday nights. (check out some of the pictures from our Samboree
this year, by clicking on "Missouri Samboree 2009")
For more information, you may contact me or any of the Assisant State
Directors listed on this web site.
Once again, I thank you for giving us this time to acquaint
you with our Missouri Good Sam Club. We do hope to see you
down the road.
May God grant you safety every mile of your journeys!
